The End of Dental Visits: A Calming Office Experience

For many people, even the words 'dental appointment' can bring a wave of tension. But what if going to the dentist felt different — peaceful, even restorative? That’s exactly what I set out to create here at Carlston Dental Group in West Los Angeles.

You’ll notice we’ve done things differently from the moment you arrive. There’s no circling the block or watching the meter. We have our own private parking lot, so your visit starts without stress or surprise expenses.

Step inside, and you’re greeted not by a cold, clinical waiting room but by a warm, welcoming space that feels more like a living room. Outside the window, our garden offers a touch of serenity — lush, green, full of life, and filled with music, all of which I wrote and performed. Please stop by our front desk for a copy of my CDs.

Some patients say they arrive early just to relax by the window. But more than anything, it’s the way we connect with our patients that makes the difference. I take my time. I listen. I explain. I work with you, not on you. I believe that healing begins with presence. I’m a lifelong student of Tai Chi and meditation, and I bring that centeredness into every appointment.

Many patients tell me they’ve never felt so calm in a dental chair — and that’s not by accident. It’s because we care deeply not just about the outcome, but about the experience. We believe in treating people, not just teeth.

If anxiety or past experiences have made you hesitate to see a dentist, I invite you to visit us and experience a different kind of dental care — one where you’re welcomed, understood, and gently cared for.
