Prosthodontics

I fully understand that damaged or missing teeth significantly affect the quality of life and general well-being of my patients. For this reason, I take the time to understand their concerns and design a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their needs so that they can once again enjoy a full and healthy smile.

Prosthodontic appliances are designed to restore, replace, enhance, and maintain the oral function, comfort, appearance, and oral health of patients with missing or damaged teeth. The most common prosthodontic appliances I custom-design for our patients include dental implants, veneers, crowns, bridges, and dentures.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are modern prosthodontic appliances that I commonly recommend to patients with cosmetic issues that affect the front teeth. I use veneers to fix issues like teeth chips and cracks, but also misalignment, gaps, or stains.

Veneers are thin shells of ceramic that I bond to the front surfaces of the teeth. I custom-design veneers for each patient according to the natural shape of their teeth and match their color to the surrounding teeth for seamless results. Once they are designed and manufactured, I use special resin to secure the veneers onto the teeth and help facilitate a strong bond between the porcelain and the enamel.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns or caps are custom-fitted appliances used to restore severely damaged teeth. I commonly recommend crowns for teeth weakened by decay that cannot be fixed with a filling and teeth that have undergone a root canal procedure. To make the tooth stronger and restore its appearance and ability to function normally, I place the crown over the damaged or affected tooth. I also use crowns to secure a bridge in place, to be the visible components of implants, and more.

Dental Implants

When my patients are looking for a fixed, durable, and reliable tooth replacement option, I recommend dental implants. Dental implants are small titanium screws that serve as artificial tooth roots. After placing a dental implant, I can restore a patient’s missing tooth or teeth using a crown, bridge, or denture.

Dental implants have had high success rates and can improve a patient’s quality of life significantly. Most patients are eligible for dental implants if they are healthy enough to undergo minor surgery and have sufficient bone density in their jaws to support the implants.

If you are unsure what restorative option is best for you, I can walk you through your options and determine if you’re a good candidate for dental implants.
